Satz (grammatical structure)

A complete German sentence containing all necessary grammatical elements including subject and predicate. Can be simple (one clause) or complex (multiple clauses).
Examples
- Der Hund läuft. (The dog runs) - simple sentence
- Ich gehe ins Kino, weil ich Zeit habe. (I go to the cinema because I have time) - complex sentence
- Was machst du? (What are you doing?) - interrogative sentence
- Komm her! (Come here!) - imperative sentence
Notes
German sentences follow specific word order rules: verb-second in main clauses, verb-final in subordinate clauses. All sentences must contain at least a subject and finite verb.
